Alasdair is an experienced freelance director working with new plays and classical texts on various scales in conventional and non-conventional settings. His work has been seen in UK theatres including the Tron Theatre, Traverse Theatre, Hampstead Theatre, and Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, as well as across the Midwest USA including Chicago and St Louis. He has directed 10 Shakespeare plays, and would like to direct more.

He was Associate Director on Rachel O’Riordan’s production of The Seafarer (Perth Theatre / Lyric Belfast).

Alasdair was President of Glasgow’s Queen Margaret Union in 2008/09 and a board member of Macrobert Arts Centre from 2009 to 2012. He made classical work under the Wilderness of Tigers label between 2007 and 2017.
Alasdair is a Connections Director for the National Theatre, and has supported NT Connections companies linked with the Traverse Theatre, Lyric Belfast and Royal & Derngate.
